Day 6: Montets - Lakes Cheserys

  • D +: 913m

  • -D: 81m

  • Distance: 8 km

  • time with breaks: 7:00

Late check this July 16, we know that the step will not be too long. We walk along the valley towards Argentiere to Col des Montets, where we pause at the front office of the Aiguilles Rouges nature reserve. The opportunity for us to buy some food (there is little choice, chocolate and BN, but better than nothing ...) and we sit and watch a movie pretty much done on animals mountain. Then we climb to the balconies of Mont Blanc, the trails that are right in front of glaciers (Glacier du Tour, Sea Ice and Glassier Bossons).

montée vers les balcons du Mont Blanc
The first summit looming before us, and we can almost touch, reaching out, is the Aiguille Verte (for a walk around the Aiguilles Rouges, not bad .. .).

Aiguille Verte
This trail is quite crowded, especially today where it's very beautiful. This does not ibex wander all around us, sometimes without any fear and being photographed without difficulty.

Bouquetin sur le Massif du Mont Blanc
He had found something appetizing and our presence does not bother him absolutely not.

Bouquetin aux balcons du Mont Blanc
A little further we finally see, no cloud, Mont Blanc has played hide and seek with us all week.

Le Mont Blanc depuis les balcons
It was time, the battery in the camera blinks dangerously in red ... The opportunity for one last picture.

Christine devant le Mont Blanc
We arrive at the lakes Cheserys mid-afternoon, and decide to stop there for the night. These lakes are fed by any stream, I take this opportunity to try a new bathing. This time, nothing to do with the lake Anterne: without hot water is still at a suitable temperature and I swim for a good half-hour.
We set up camp in the evening, and I managed a relatively decent picture with my phone.

Bivouac aux lacs des Cheserys
We fall asleep quickly, for a night that will not be easy ...
